2 Down, 1 to Go

SPOILER ALERT:  I just finished Book 2 and will be embarking on Book 3 shortly.

Oh boy.  They snached Katniss from the arena and Jeff Probst can NOT be happy.  He must be thinking NOW how am I going to have Tribal Council when I have no tribes?!

Poor Peeta.  He is somewhere with the Council (are they in a district? I forget) most likely having bamboo shoots shoved in his fingernails...but he won't crack about Catnip.  Oh no siree.  Even though she is having yet another anticlimactic moment with Gale, whilst being strapped down (no, this is not Fifty Shades...FOCUS!)  Every time this poor bloke pops up out of nowhere, we get nothing in the way of "Oh Gale" - a la "Oh Edward".  Oh no we don't.

All we get from unexpected meetings with Gale is..."I walked up the steps, and who greets me but Gale" (note the use of multiple tenses) or "I woke up and who was there?  Gale!"  and then she launches into whatever Katniss diatribe she's got on tap for today.  I mean, seriously!  You've been trapped in the arena...you never thought you'd make it out...and there - in front of you - is the man you've been in love with for years...GALE!  You've got to give me a little more in terms of "Holy shit, I want to jump out of this bed and throw my arms around him and maul his face until he's got to go wipe the spit off himself with an antibacterial Wet One!!!"

Oh yeah...YA.  I keep forgetting.  (said like Cindy Brady)

I have to say, I enjoyed Book 2 even more than Book 1.  There was just so much more to keep my interest.  I love variety.  Although, I will admit - there is a fine line between good variety and too many new characters/situations.  But luckily, this book had just the right amount.  I liked the girls living in the cement house.  I liked the meeting with the head Gamemaker, Plu-something (who can keep these names straight??  And totally called the fact that he was on her side, did I not?)  I could use a little more Gale...but I'm hoping I'll get that in Book 3.

OMG so WHAT is going to happen in Book 3??  Here is my prediction.  I think Gale is going to be in Book 3 a lot more.  I think Peeta is going to be held for a while and Gale is going to help Katniss find him.  I think it's going to be a long road and Katniss really is going to have a baby and Peeta is going to imprint on it the minute they find him.  Ok...maybe not that last part.
